Faculty Team Leader, Humanities - Mrs Catherine Michica de Oliveira
The Humanities Faculty at Chailey School encompasses Geography, History, Beliefs and Ethics and Business Studies. Whilst the content of the subjects differ the objective of the Faculty is to develop students’ interest in the past and present. Students’ study how society and communities change over time and people interact with each other and environments. Students are encouraged to make links between the subjects and to apply their knowledge and understanding across the curriculum.
At Key Stage 3 students have one lesson of Beliefs and Ethics and two lessons each of History and Geography each week.
GCSE Beliefs and Ethics is delivered to all students starting in the Autumn Term of year 9.
At Key Stage 4 students can opt to study History, Geography and Business Studies.
