Chailey Library is a welcoming and vibrant learning environment at the heart of the school. It is open from 08:45 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:45 – 15:10 on Friday.

The Library is popular with students at morning break and lunch-time and can be used for homework, research or reading for pleasure.
Students can borrow fiction books from the well-stocked shelves and the school curriculum is supported by the non-fiction stock and computers for homework or extended research.
Teaching staff across the curriculum enjoy using the Library for whole class research and the English department regularly have library lessons for quiet reading.
Students use the Library computers during break to complete homework.
A Homework Club operates after school Monday to Thursday 15:15 – 16:00 for Years 7, 8 and 9. Year 10 and 11 students can also take advantage of this facility to keep up with coursework or homework.
The Library hosts reading groups for keen readers, participates in the Southern Schools Book Award, has visits from poets and authors, as well as many other activities to promote and encourage reading for pleasure. It also runs the chess club which is enjoyed by students every lunch break.
