We are delighted to have Steve Hayman, the Director of Cheesmur Building Contractors, as our Enterprise Advisor this year. Enterprise Advisers are volunteers drawn from businesses who will work directly with the School’s Leadership team to develop effective employer engagement plans.
Ms Poole, (Assistant Headteacher at Chailey), writes: “This exciting new programme aims to bridge the gap, linking schools and businesses even further together strategically to enable our young people to develop a better understanding of the world of work”.
Chailey School already offers excellent careers provision through the curriculum and was awarded the ‘Level 3 Investors in Careers Award’ two years ago.
We provide an extensive range of trips across all years including visits to Oxford and Sussex Universities. Regular guest speakers from different businesses regularly deliver to students, and we also support Year 11 with interview skills. Enterprise Days and Apprenticeship Workshops have been successful and all students in Year 10 do a week of Work Experience.
Helen Key, Headteacher, Steve Hayman, Enterprise Advisor and Louise Poole, Assistant Headteacher.
Students are Taylor Littlecott, ( Work Experience at Les Mis Theatre), Evie Churchill, (Work Experience at the Houses of Parliament), Phoebe York, (Work Experience at Chailey Heritage), and James Collins, who is this year on a day release programme at Cheesmur Building Contractors.
