Chailey School wins Speaking Competition
Chailey School has won the local round of the prestigious English Speaking Union Competition, beating schools from both the state and independent sector, including Brighton College. The team will go on to represent the local area at the South East Regional Final at Dartmouth House. The team of Year 11 students; John McLeod, Andreea Alexa and Reuben Hayward-Brown won the overall competition with both Andreea and Reuben picking up individual prizes and awards for their speaking. Mrs Key, Head Teacher said ‘we are incredibly proud of both their performances, and the hard work that they put into fully preparing for the competition’. A spokesperson for the competition praised the accomplished speaking of all of the students from Chailey School.
