Free books for the Library from Readathon

In March, Year 7 took part in Readathon - the sponsored reading for pleasure activity - which raised an amazing £750.

This money supports Readwell, a charity which supplies new books and storytellers to sick children in hospital in the UK.

As a thank you from Readathon, Mrs Duck, our Library Manager, who organises Readathon every year, received a voucher for £145.

This has been spent on exciting Key Stage 3 fiction for the Library.

These include a new edition of the complete set of Harry Potter, a set of Eragon, a set of The Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins, author of The Hunger Games, and books by popular authors such as David Walliams, Jacqueline Wilson, Anthony Horowitz and Robert Muchamore.

All these books will soon be on the shelves and available to the students for some summer holiday reading.
