Year 7 Readathon
Year 7 have completed their sponsored Readathon - reading books for pleasure and raising money for charity at the same time.
This year, 47 students took part and raised between them the fabulous amount of £738.27.
163 books were read during the Readathon fortnight.
The money raised supports Readwell, a charity that provides children's hospitals with regular storyteller visits, plus a mobile bookcase full of brand new books which are replenished every six weeks.
Our school library will benefit from the Readathon as well. We will receive £150 worth of books as a thank you from Readathon.
Each Year 7 form received a certificate with the amount of money they raised and the Form Reps can be seen holding these in one of the photos.
The other photo shows all the Year 7s who participated in Readathon with their certificates.
In addition, a special certificate, a book token and chocolates were awarded to the student who raised the most money (£70) and the student who read the most books (12).
Well done to Year 7 for reading so many books and raising money to help seriously ill children.
