This week we welcomed Daz Saunders from the Connor Saunders foundation back to Chailey School. Daz presented an assembly to our Year 8 and 10 students, having previously visited Chailey last term to present to Year 9 about the dangers of anti-social behaviour and the importance of kindness.

Daz's son, Connor, was murdered in 2012 on a night out with his friends and following this tragic event the family have dedicated much of their lives to establishing the foundation and positively impacting the lives of others. The impact of Daz's visits on both the staff and the students has been so profound that as well as making a sizeable donation to the foundation, we have committed to donating 50% of all future fundraising events in school to the foundation.

If you would like to know more about their work, or to make a donation yourselves (we had several students asking how they could), the website is shown below.

We would like to thank Daz for her inspiring work and for speaking with our students, and we intend to have her return to Chailey in future to present to future cohorts.
