On Thursday 20 June, 14 Year 9 students, along with Mrs Rickman and Mr Dudgeon, visited Cambridge University for a 'Climate Action' morning and tour of the university's Engineering department in the afternoon.
The students, along with those from Seaford Head School, worked hard at creating and testing models of building that could withstand climate change in countries facing the risk of catastrophic flooding. This they did alongside students and staff from the university. In the afternoon, they visited the university's Engineering department, found out a bit about studying engineering at Cambridge, and saw some of the work on which current Cambridge students were working, including the university's cutting-edge technology through eco racing-cars, robotics, and the Dyson Centre for Engineering Design.
A very enjoyable, engaging and enjoyable day - which also included a short tour of some of the sights of the university city and a wonderful lunch at Churchill College!
