Cross Country Leaders

This week we hosted our first Chailey Cluster Primary School event and the PE Department was lucky enough to be supported by some outstanding Year 9 Sports Leaders. We had 8 local primary schools in attendance with races held for years 3 and 4 for their first taster of the sport and years 5 and 6 who were competing to qualify for the next round in the North Wealden Partnership finals.

They were responsible for setting up the course, helping to take students and parents as guides, marshalling the course and submitting results. They were fantastic and the event ran so smoothly.

These events cannot happen without the support of our students. It gives them a great opportunity to take on different roles within PE and Sport and gives them valuable leadership experience as well as a sense of responsibility and teamwork.
